Paleontology Adventures!

Hi!

I guess you might wonder what a paleontologist is?

A paleontologist is a scientist. A scientist that studies on fossils to learn about the past.

Yes, that includes dinosaur fossils!

Here’s how you pronounce it:

PAY LEE AHN TAH LAH JIST. (Say it fast 3 times!)

My mom and dad were paleontologists, and now I guess I am too.

(Of course, I might have to go to school a few more years?)

In the Carole Marsh books, I am the leader of the weekly big dig gig.

It might be anywhere in the world! I have to use my smarts. (Shovel says I go too fast and should slow down a bit.) And, thank goodness, Pick always brings his digging tools.

My mom’s friend, Dr. Archie Ologist, is supposed to tagalong and help us. Mostly, he likes to nap—a lot! But he does show up on the Dinomobile sometimes, which comes in handy.

The weird thing about being a book character is that you have to wait and see what will happen next! I guess that’s what makes it soooooo exciting!
